Over 25,000 people have heart attacks in Israel every year. United Hatzalah’s 3,000 community based volunteers are often the first to arrive at emergency calls, with an average response time of three minutes or less. 

But only 30% of our volunteers are equipped with the life-saving defibrillators they need to “restart” hearts that have stopped beating. Without defibrillation, the chance of surviving cardiac arrest is less than 5%. But with prompt defibrillation, it skyrockets to 75%.

Countless more lives could be saved if more of our volunteers arrived to calls with this vital piece of equipment.
