Jerusalem is Israel’s most diverse city, encompassing Jews and Arabs, Christians and Muslims, secular and ultra-Orthodox. The city’s rich human tapestry is one of her greatest treasures. But too often, members of the city’s different communities lack opportunities to engage in meaningful, long-term contact with each other.

The Keshet Highschool in the Jewish neighborhood of Katamonim and the Beit Tzafafa Highschool in the Arab neighborhood of Beit Tzafafa are separated only by a train-track - yet the language and cultural barriers make them seem worlds away - people from one neighborhood rarely venture into the other.

Now that's beginning to change, with the launch of our new project: The Queens and Kings of Jerusalem Jewish-Arab Teen Chess League, where Jewish and Arab youth play together, learn together, and work together towards a shared future.

Once a week, Jewish students from the Keshet Highschool in the Jewish neighborhood of Katamonim, and Arab students from the Beit Tzafafa Highschool in Arab neighborhood of Beit Tzafafa cross the train track into each other’s neighborhoods to play chess together. In addition to chess lessons, the project also encompassess language learning, tours of each other’s neighborhoods, and the opportunity for participants to plan an end-of-year communal chess tournament together.

The Queens and Kings of Jerusalem nurtures meaningful, long-term connections between Jewish and Arab youth, while instilling language and leadership skills through the game of chess. Throughout the course of the program, participants learn how to play together -and most importantly, how to interact and develop friendships with each other. Together, they create a shared language, learning an important life lesson that will last long once the game is over.

The program has 30 participants; 15 Arab students and 15 Jewish students.

We have secured funding from a private donor for the first semester, and seek an additional $6,000 in order to continue the project to school year’s end.

Together, we can give the ultimate gift to the youth of Jerusalem: the gift of being able to play together.

Together, we can build a model of shared society in Jerusalem.

Donations of $100 and upwards will include tickets to participate in a simultaneous chess tournament with one of the Jerushachmat 2019 champions.
Donations of $150 and upwards will include a private one-hour lesson with a chess master.

The Queens and Kings of Jerusalem is part of “Good Deeds in Memory of Daniel Segev” a lover of chess and excellent amateur player, and is carried out in partnership with the Keshet and Beit Tzafafa high schools and in partnership with Jeruschachmat, Jerusalem’s largest chess club.

אחרי ההצלחה האדירה של השש-בש הירושלמי, כולנא ירושלים גאה להציג את פרויקט השחמט החדש: כולנא מלכים.

בפרויקט לוקחים חלק 30 תלמידות ותלמידי כיתות ח' מבתי הספר 'קשת' ובית הספר המקיף בבית צפאפא. בין שני בתי הספר מפרידה רק מסילת הרכבת הישנה ומספר דקות נסיעה.

באמצעות משחק המלכים - השחמט נפגשים התלמידים משני בתי הספר באופן שבועי קבוע ולומדים יחד את יסודות המשחק ואת סוד ההצלחה של המפגש המשותף.

הפרויקט שיצא לדרך בתחילת שנת הלימודים הוא חלק מ"מעשים טובים בשם דניאל שגב" , שהיה גם חובב שח מצטיין וזוכה לתמיכתה של המשפחה וכן לתמיכה רחבה מצד הצוותים החינוכיים בשני בתי הספר ומועדון 'הירושחמט'- מועדון השח הגדול בירושלים.

בכדי להצליח לעמוד בכל יעדי הפרויקט השנתיים- המשך קיום רציף של מפגשים משותפים עד לסוף השנה, יציאה לסיורי גיבוש, הוצאת מילון שחמט ערבי עברי ועריכת אירוע סיום שח חגיגי שיהיה פתוח גם לקהל הרחב אנו זקוקים לתמיכה נוספת בסך 25,000 ₪.

  • כל תרומה לפרוייקט בסך 100 ש"ח ומעלה תזכה את התורם בפקק לבקבוק יין בצורת כלי שח.
  • כל תרומה  בסך 350 ש"ח ומעלה תקנה לתורם את הזכות להשתתף במשחק סימולטני מול רב אומן באחד מאליפויות 'ירושחמט' במהלך שנת 2019.
  • כל תרומה בסך  550 ש"ח ומעלה תזכה את התורם  בשיעור פרטי של שעה עם רב אומן בשחמט. שפות השיעור המוצעות : ערבית, עברית, אנגלית, צרפתית, ספרדית ורוסית.

بعد النجاح الكبير الذي حققته لعبة الشيش بيش في القدس ، تفتخر جمعية كلنا مقدسيون بتقديم مشروع الشطرنج الجديد: جميعاٌ ملوك.يشارك في المشروع 30 طالب وطالبة من الصف الثامن من مدرسة "كيشيت" ومدرسة بيت صفافا الشاملة.وما يفصل بين المدرستين هو سكة القطار القديمة، والمسافة بينهما عدة دقائق.من خلال لعبة الملوك " الشطرنج" يلتقي الطلاب من كلا المدرستين بشكل أسبوعي ثابت ويتعلمون معا أساسيات اللعبة وسر نجاح ذلك هو اللقاء المشترك.تم افتتاح المشروع في بداية العام الدراسي، كثمرة لمبادرة عائلة المرحوم دانيال سيغف، أحد هواة الشطرنج المتميزين وتتمتع بدعم من الأسرة وبدعم واسع من الطواقم التربوية في المدرستين ونادي الشطرنج المقدسي "نادي الشطرنج الكبير في القدس".من أجل النجاح في تلبية جميع غايات المشروع السنوية – يجب الاستمرار في عقد اللقاءات المشتركة حتى نهاية العام الدراسي ، الخروج في جولات جماعية بهدف تشكيل وبناء المجموعة، إصدار قاموس مهني لمفردات الشطرنج باللغة العبرية والعربية، و إجراء حفل نهائي مفتوح يستطيع الجمهور العام المشاركة به. نحن بحاجة لدعم مادي إضافي بمقدار25,000 شيكل.

سنعمل سوياً من أجل تحويل المشروع إلى نموذج للقاء ممتع وناجح  بين أبناء الشبيبة العرب واليهود. لقد قمنا بالفعل بتنفيذ الخطوات الأولى حسب البرنامج، والآن نحن بحاجة لمساعدتكم.

  • كل تبرع بمبلغ 350 شيكل أو أكثر سيشارك في لعبة محاكاة ضد مدرب ذا مستوى عالي في لعبة الشطرنج  في إحدى بطولات الشطرنج المقدسي خلال العام 2019.
  • كل تبرع بقيمة 550 شيكل أو أكثر تمنح المتبرع درس خاص لمدة ساعة واحدة مع مدرب ذا مستوى عالي في لعبة الشطرنج. لغات الدرس المقترحة: العربية، العبرية، الإنجليزية، الفرنسية، الإسبانية والروسية.
