"We'll DOUBLE each dollar you give."

New York nonpublic school students represent 13% of the total student population but only receive 1% of government funding.

Jewish day schools provide an exceptional education. However, a major problem persists: They are expensive to run and expensive to attend.

Luckily, Jewish students throughout New York State can rely on you to help ensure that day schools and yeshivas tap into all available local and state funding opportunities.

When you give to Teach NYS, you make sure that elected officials and policy leaders in Albany, New York City and across the state recognize the needs of Jewish day schools.  You fight to give Jewish students an affordable, high-quality education in a safe learning environment. You commit to giving Jewish children the opportunity to receive a strong religious and secular education.

The Teach NYS impact is well-documented. Thanks to generous supporters like you, we:

  • Secured significant increases for the Mandated Services Reimbursement and the Comprehensive Attendance Policy including a historic $250 million reimbursement payment
  • Passed historic school safety funding programs on the State level and in New York City
  • Continue to work the Department of Homeland Security to ensure the timely and practical flow of information important to our students’ safety.

But our work is far from over.

Your support means better, safer Jewish day schools throughout New York. Jewish students need your help and they need it now.

Also, in the wake of the 2016 elections, we see the real prospect for delivering new resources for Jewish day schools from the Federal government – and we already have an established and powerful presence in Washington, DC through the OU Advocacy Center.

We will be hitting the ground hard and fast to push for federal legislation for our Jewish day schools during the first months of the new administration.
