Kav L’Noar is Leading the Fight for Families crippled by the Corona crisis

Support this emergency campaign which has been providing critical services 24/7 to care for our Kids at Risk since our kickoff concert with Zusha and Nissim Black on Chol Hamoed Pesach.

Quarantine isn’t equal for everyone.

While we are all stuck at home over the past few weeks and for the foreseeable future, we get agitated, restless, and lonely.

However, the life circumstances of our clients makes this quarantine infinitely more difficult.

Like, for the couple, Miki and Tal*, who was thinking about getting a divorce, but through our therapists’ intervention has begun to recall their love. Those therapy sessions were so important to them at this important juncture in their relationship.

Or, their daughter, Maya* in middle school who had been acting out and struggling in school until she enrolled in one of our school-based group programs. How is this break going to affect the growth she’s been having if the group can’t continue? It’s going to be even more difficult with her parents reeling from not being able to have their regular therapy sessions.

What about Nitza*, who had recently shared with our therapist that her husband’s verbal abuse is too much to handle. What will she do alone in quarantine?

In Quarantine, our clients are stuck in more ways than just one. We are actively working to help them continue to grow during this time. Please help our therapists, mentors, and the rest of our support team continue to provide services over the phone and computer to our clients, whose desire to flourish has not ended just because they are indoors.

*All names have been changed to protect the identity of our clients

About Kav L’Noar

The problem

Thousands of young people in Israel are growing up without the support they need to deal with their emotional challenges, and failing to develop the social and emotional skills that are the critical foundation of personal and professional success in adulthood. 73% of Israel’s ‘at risk youth’ have problems relating to family related issues. Without a family-wide intervention, they are at high risk of dropping out of school and potentially ending up on the street, or even in jail. 12% of this at risk group are from Olim (immigrant)- families. In these cases, a child or teenager who is depressed, failing at school, taking drugs, assaulting his peers or struggling with a host of other challenges will also have to contend with a confused sense of identity and a family who may struggle to source the help he or she needs.

How We Help

Kav L’Noar has a vision of an emotionally healthy Israel, of a society which places equal value on physical and mental health and where people have the emotional tools and resilience to live full and successful lives. Our current focus is on providing education, intervention and support for the next generation. We provide a complete solution for children from troubled homes and at risk youth through our therapy and mentoring services which connect the young person, the parents and the school to ensure a successful outcome for every child.

All our programs place a special focus on modeling positive relationships, on improving relationships within the family and on learning crucial social skills, because these are the foundation of long-term happiness and success in every area.

Kav L’Noar currently works throughout Israel and we are constantly expanding to more schools. Because we specialize in working with French, Spanish, and English speaking Olim, all our services are offered in English, Spanish and French as well as Hebrew. All services are fully evaluated using internationally recognized assessment scales to ensure that they are achieving maximum impact and meeting program objectives.
