You may know a child like Eli. Well, Eli is not quite a “child” -- he’s 16 years old. And because of severe complications at his birth, Eli now functions like a two-year-old.

If you know someone like Eli, you know what that means. He can’t go to the bathroom by himself. He can’t eat food by himself, unless it’s cut up in super-small pieces. It takes him a long time to do basic things, like put on his shoes or take a drink of water.

Unfortunately, Eli’s parents can’t take care of him the way he really needs.

Eli needs a home that is dedicated to his care. A place that can provide him high-quality, long-term care. And respite for his family.

His mom barely works at her job anymore -- she’s just too wiped out. Besides, she can’t leave his side for long.

Worse, she isn’t able to pay attention to her other kids in the ways they deserve -- she missed her daughter’s school play and her other son’s violin recital.
