After the horrific kidnapping and murder of Gil-ad, Naftali, and Eyal, HY”D, Women in Green, with the support of residents of Judea, responded by creating a Jewish presence in the forest overlooking the site of the abduction.

With the help of thousands of volunteers, they have built it into a beautiful nature preserve called Oz Vegaon.

Oz veGaon functions as an active educational and cultural center, providing hands-on opportunities to connect with the land of Israel and as an oasis in the heart of Gush Etzion. A source of inspiration to visitors who come from near and far. A place to honor the memories of victims of terror like the three kidnapped teens and Ezra Shwartz, HY”D, who was shot a year later on his way to volunteer at Oz Vegaon.

When you can literally roll up your sleeves and feel the earth and soil of Israel in your fingers, you gain a new appreciation for the Jewish People’s heritage and roots.

But maintaining Oz Vegaon comes with significant challenges. Between the cold Judean winters and the hostile villages nearby, our nature preserve - our beacon of hope and inspiration - has become vulnerable.

During the winter, power failures frequently disrupt the preserve’s only source of heating. Without a dependable generator, everything freezes.

As for our security concerns, Oz Vegaon is poorly lit and surrounded by unstable, rocky terrain. Better lighting means safer and more secure walkways.

And as we face Arab terror in the form of arson we must protect and secure the forest.

That is why your gift to Women in Green/Oz Vegaon will go directly to a) the purchase of a reliable generator, b) repaving the pathways around the preserve, c) the acquisition of security cameras,  and d) the purchase of a water tanker.
