These combat soldiers were alone until they found HaBayit shel Benji

HaBayit shel Benji: A Home Away From Home for Israel’s Lone Combat Soldiers

They left their homes to defend our Homeland. Here’s how you can help.

HaBayit shel Benji is an oasis for lone combat soldiers. A place they can truly be themselves. They can relax and chill out, just as they would do at home, with their parents and their real family. Now, these soldiers need your help. The kitchen at HaBayit shel Benji is outdated and quite small. As 75 young men and women will soon be calling HaBayit shel Benji their home, we need to urgently expand our kitchen and purchase new, bigger appliances.

"The thing I was most afraid of was not the army, the training, or the weeks on base. I was afraid of being alone."

You probably know someone like Jake.

Jake was 18-years-old when he moved to Israel right after graduation. He enlisted in the IDF, ready to protect his homeland and new home. All Jake knew was his base. When soldiers left their base on leave for the weekend, the rest of his unit went to their families. Jake knew a few people in Israel and spent his weekends and free time visiting family and friends, but he had nowhere to call his home.

Nowhere where he could do his laundry.. nowhere he could open the fridge whenever he felt hungry in the middle of the night...nowhere where he could put his feet up and escape into a book for hours..nowhere he felt at home. Your donation to HaBayit shel Benji provides soldiers like Jake the love and care they deserve. HaBayit shel Benji gives lone soldiers the practical physical support (their own room, hot meals, laundry etc) as well as the warmth, care and attention they need so badly.

HaBayit shel Benji is an oasis for lone soldiers.

Your donation to HaBayit shel Benji will expand and refurbish our kitchen. If you ever have the privilege to talk to lone soldiers, ask them what they missed most while in the army. Home-cooked food is one of the main ingredients that makes our house a home. Three meals a day. Hot shabbat food. A family.

And, thanks to a matching donation from a generous donor, every dollar you donate will be doubled!

During this special time when we celebrate Israel’s birthday, you have a unique opportunity to have TWICE THE IMPACT.

The clock is ticking. Please help us give these lone combat soldiers that “special taste of home” they so richly deserve.

All donations are tax deductible in the US, UK and Israel.
